We recommend learners complete the MITx PRO Quantum Computing Fundamentals Program before taking the Quantum Computing Realities courses. It is not required. If you have experience with the fundamentals of Quantum Computing through your employment or education history, you may be able to start with this program. Please review the course schedules linked below for more information about the topics covered in this program.
Course 1: Practical Realities of Quantum Computation and Quantum Communication Course Schedule
Course 2: Requirements for Large-Scale Universal Quantum Computation Course Schedule
Linear algebra is at the core of quantum computing algorithms and hence knowledge of vector and matrix multiplication is a strongly suggested prerequisite.
Individuals who are interested in taking MIT xPRO's quantum computing programs may find it helpful to refresh their background in linear algebra using this free course: MIT Open Courseware-Linear Algebra
Learners who would like a refresher on quantum physics may find the MIT Open Courseware - Quantum Physics I course helpful.
Quantum computing programs such as Qiskit are covered in each of the quantum courses as a part of the IBM Q Experience sections. There is no expectation that learners will come with a background in Qiskit.
