Discovering and Implementing Your Leadership Strengths is a 3-week course designed to help you build a personalized roadmap to develop and strengthen your leadership capabilities. The course focuses on critical self-reflection to uncover and enhance your unique leadership strengths, allowing you to optimize your leadership style and skills within the context of teams and organizations.
This course is suitable for professionals and entrepreneurs at all levels who want to realize and develop their strengths and become more effective leaders. Whether you work in business, industry, government, or other organizations, this course will provide you with the tools and insights to lead and function at your highest potential.
The course content includes video lectures, real-world case studies, and interactive projects. Peer review is an important component of the course, allowing you to apply your skills and receive feedback from others. Assessments include practice activities with immediate feedback, learning scenarios, self-reflection exercises, and discussions with peers and course TAs.
Throughout the course, you will explore and analyze your personality traits, values, capabilities, motivations, and self-identity through various assessments, self-reflection, and external feedback. You will develop a clear Leadership Vision for yourself and create a plan for implementing it.
In the first week, you will focus on building self-awareness by understanding your five main personality traits and their connection to leadership through the IPIP-NEO assessment. You will analyze how your personality traits influence your leadership style through self-reflection.
In the second week, you will continue to explore your leadership style and strengths by triangulating qualitative and quantitative information from self-reported assessments and external feedback. You will learn to analyze and synthesize this feedback to create a tool that can help others understand your strengths.
In the third week, you will reflect on your self-understanding of your personality and strengths and learn techniques and skills to define and implement your leadership vision. You will adopt a growth mindset perspective and write a visioning exercise to imagine and create your future as a leader.
By the end of the course, you will be empowered as a leader and change agent, equipped with self-knowledge and a clear vision to succeed in leading yourself, your team, and your organization.
