We understand that unforeseen circumstances may arise, and you may need to transfer or defer your enrollment to a future MIT xPRO course or program session. Here's what you need to know:
Under certain circumstances, it is possible to defer your enrollment to the next available course run only. Please note that we are unable to transfer enrollments between different courses or programs.
To initiate a deferral, you must submit a request via email before the cancellation (refund) deadline applicable to your situation.
Individual Courses
If you have purchased individual courses, learners may request a deferment up to and including the Monday after the course begins. Such deferment is limited to the next available course run only.
Courses with a Series or Program
If you have purchased a program bundle consisting of multiple courses, learners may request a deferment up to and including the seventh day after the course starts. Such deferment is limited to the next available course run only. The deadline for deferral is seven days (one week) after the start of the first course you enrolled in, regardless of the order of the courses within the program. For example, if you begin with Course 2 in a four-course program, the refund deadline for the full program purchase will be seven days after the start date of Course 2 because it is the first course you are enrolled in. After this deadline, you will not be eligible for a refund of any part of your program purchase.
To request a deferral, please send an email to our support team at support@xpro.mit.edu with the necessary details, including your name, the name of the course/program, the session you are currently enrolled in, and the desired session you wish to defer to. Our team will guide you through the deferral process and provide further instructions.
Please keep in mind that deferrals are subject to availability and may not be possible for all courses or programs.
