No, learners who complete one or more MIT xPRO courses or programs will not receive MIT credits. MIT xPRO offers non-credit/non-degree professional development courses and programs for a global audience. As professional development, MIT xPRO courses and programs do not carry academic credit.
Course participants who successfully complete one or more courses are eligible to receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs). The number of CEUs earned for each course varies and can be found listed on the Course Page, typically in the "How You Will Learn" section, as shown in the image below—as well as on the course FAQ pages.
CEUs are recognized nationally in the United States as a means of recording non-credit/non-degree study. They are accepted by many employers, licensing agencies, and professional associations as evidence of a participant’s serious commitment to the development of professional competence. CEUs are based on hours of instruction. For example, 1 CEU = 10 hours of instruction.
Please note: CEUs may not be applied toward any MIT undergraduate or graduate-level course.
