To participate in Architecture of Complex Systems, you will need to meet the following technical requirements:
-
Microsoft Excel: You should have the ability to download and run Microsoft Excel files with macros. While other software may allow you to view the files, please note that macros will generally only work within Microsoft Excel.
-
Microsoft PowerPoint: You should be able to download and edit Microsoft PowerPoint files. There are several programs available that can accomplish this.
-
PDF Reader: You will need the ability to download and read PDF files, as course materials may be provided in this format.
-
Internet Connection: Access to the course requires a stable internet connection, as videos are streamed online and cannot be downloaded for offline viewing. Ensure that your internet connection is reliable, and consider any restrictions or firewall settings imposed by your company.
Please note that while optional links to models may be provided for further exploration, Matlab is not required for this course.
It is recommended to use the latest versions of Google Chrome, Firefox, or Safari for the best experience with the courseware. If you don't have Chrome installed, you can download it for free from the following link: http://www.google.com/chrome/browser/
Please be aware that full support for mobile devices is not currently available. While many course components may function on a mobile device, some may not work as expected.
If you are accessing the course from a secured machine or network, there may be limitations on downloading, uploading, and sharing content. Make sure to comply with your local IT policies while taking an online course. In some cases, organizations with restrictions on using Chrome have granted special waivers for MIT course attendees, or learners have opted to use their personal/home computers.
