For each MIT xPRO course that you pass, you will receive a digital course certificate. For multi-course programs, once you've earned all of the required Course Certificates, you will also receive a digital program certificate.
MIT xPRO certificates are delivered in digital form only. Printed or "hard copy" certificates are not available, though learners are more than welcome to download their certificates and create their own printed copies—see below for details.
Important Note: If you think you've passed a course, but you can't find a Course Certificate, the reason may be that certificates for your course simply have not been released yet!
Course Certificates typically become available approximately 3-5 business days after the scheduled end date of a course session. Program Certificates typically become available as soon as the last Course Certificate needed to complete the program is released.
How to Access Your Course or Program Certificate
Once you've earned an MIT xPRO Course or Program Certificate, you can access them via your MIT xPRO Dashboard. If a certificate has been released for a course or program you're enrolled in, you will see a "View Certificate" button below and to the right of its name. For multi-course programs, the topmost button will correspond to its Program Certificate. Each of the program's component courses will be listed below, and will present corresponding "View Certificate" buttons to view their individual Course Certificates. See the image below for an example:
How to Print or Download Your Certificates
While preprinted "hard copy" certificates are not available from MIT xPRO, learners may create their own printed copy—or download a local version—of their xPRO Course and Program Certificates, using their browser's print and save to PDF features.
How to Print Your Certificate:
- Access the MIT xPRO certificate you wish to print, following the instructions above
- Locate the "print" icon in the grey webpage header, at the top of your browser window, and click it. (see below for an example image)
- Alternately, choose your browser's "Print" feature (from the "File" menu or directly—typically ⌘-P on MacOS and Ctrl-P on Windows)
- Follow the instructions to choose your printer and print your certificate
How to Download Your Certificate:
Most modern browsers (like Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox) include a "Print to PDF" or "Save to PDF" (or similarly-named) feature, that allows a user to create a PDF version of their xPRO Certificate.
To download your xPRO Certificate, and create a locally-saved copy, follow the instructions for printing your Certificate above, but instead of printing your certificate to a printer, choose your browser's "Print to PDF" or "Save as PDF" option. Choose a destination to save the file on your device, and click the "Print" or "Save" button.
